Malaysia: Implement International Arrest Warrant for Min Aung Hlaing
As Min Aung Hlaing, head of the Burmese military, begins his visit to Malaysia today, Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK (BROUK) called on the Government of Malaysia to implement the international arrest warrant issued by an Argentine court.
Min Aung Hlaing is one of 25 people against whom the Argentine Federal Court issued international arrest warrants in February 2025. The warrants were issued in the universal jurisdiction case initiated by BROUK to investigate the genocide and crimes against humanity committed against the Rohingya between 2012 and 2017.
The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has also requested an arrest warrant against him for crimes against humanity against the Rohingya, a request which either remains pending or may be under seal.
