New York Declaration on Rohingya Rights and Protection

In observation of the UN General Assembly “High-Level Conference on the Situation of the Rohingya Muslims and Other Minorities in Myanmar”

Today, on this historic occasion, we, the Rohingya people, stand before the world with one voice.

For decades, we have endured genocide, apartheid, and life in exile. Our homeland, Arakan, has been burned, looted, and emptied of its people. Our mothers and daughters have borne unspeakable violations. Our youth have grown up in refugee camps without any hope or future.

Yet, despite every attempt to destroy us, we remain unbroken.

Open letter: UN General Assembly must denounce Myanmar military junta’s sham election, support Myanmar people’s democratic aspirations 

We—206 Myanmar, regional, and international civil society organizations—call on the Member States of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to adopt a resolution that categorically rejects the Myanmar military junta’s sham election and explicitly supports the Myanmar people’s ongoing efforts to establish bottom-up federal democracy.

8 Years On: Accountability Needed for Myanmar Atrocities Against Rohingya 

August 25, 2025, marks eight years since the Myanmar military and authorities launched widespread atrocities against the Rohingya population in Myanmar’s  Rakhine State. 

Starting in August 2017, Myanmar security forces razed several hundred Rohingya villages and killed Rohingya women, men, and children throughout northern Rakhine State, forcing at least 700,000 to flee to Bangladesh. An Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar documented evidence of genocide and crimes against humanity.
